Exploring the long-standing relationship between art and fashion, the Museo Salvatore have launched a compelling exhibition named ‘Across Art and Fashion’ (Tra Arte e Moda). Set in the heart of Florence, the exhibit showcases a specialised range of clothing, accessories, fabrics, works of art, books, and photographs in order to reflect on the complex relationship between fashion and art.

The showcase focuses on the work of Italian footwear creative Salvatore Ferragamo, a designer inspired by the avant-garde art movements of the 20th century and Hollywoods golden era.

Drawing inspiration from the world of art, Ferragamo collaborated with many of the artists of his time.

The project analyses the forms of dialogue between the worlds or art and fashion: reciprocal inspirations, overlap’s and collaborations;

Numerous brands are represented in Museo Salvatore Ferragamo, such as a Schiaparelli skirt suit with buttons and a Vionnet silken tunic dress from 1922, featuring geometric motifs.

The exhibition runs until the 7th of April 2017 at the Palazzo Spini Feroni, Piazza di Santa Trinita, 5/R, 50123 Firenze, Italy.
