Bringing a revolutionary and an intriguing new concept to the art of jewellery design is London College of Fashion graduate Viktorija Agne. Working from her small studio space in London, the Lithuanian designer has created new ground within the world of accessory design with her Masters and latest collection.

Inspired by the robotic mechanics featured in the Transformers film, Agne’s designs particularly focus on the metal ball joints found in the figurines shoulders and knees.

Like the robotic giant’s featured in the Hollywood movie, Agne’s pieces can transform into 2-3 different pieces, simply by rotating the crystal and glass balls attached at the joints.

The designer’s Masters collection is made from brass and chrome plating. Due to the scale of the pieces, these were the best materials to support and sustain the weight of the rotational movements of each piece.

Working mainly with Rose crystal and glass, Viktorija’s fascination with stones reveals itself throughout the collection. By collaborating with a carver Agne has managed to create beautifully elegant editorial objects that have their own personal sculptural aesthetic.

Discussing the prime moment when creativity strikes, the talented designer confesses she is somewhat of a night owl and completes her best work late into the evening;

“My best time to do my work is before I fall asleep, If I have a sleepless night then it’s good! I really run through the designs in my head and I try imagine the mechanisms, how they would work etc.” Viktorija Agne

The latest collection entitled “Commercial Masters” is a continuation from the previous Masters collection, adopting mechanical and technical concepts to create a wearable, transformable collection.

Each piece can be altered to suit the context of where the consumer may find themselves whether it be at work or going out for a more dressed up occasion. Due to the nature of the collection, the designer had a larger element of challenge added to her work, the pieces had to be endurable, beautiful and most importantly comfortable for the consumer to adorn on their body.

Producing incredibly innovative designs, this talented designer has perhaps begun to change the way consumers wear their accessories entirely.

Employing fabulously unique and elegant concepts to her constructions, Viktorija’s passion for providing a new experience for consumers shines through the beautiful sweeping angles and of course the transformational components of the collections.

With her technical perspective on design, Viktorija is currently working on an exciting new collection for 2017, no doubt being another continuation of her previous works. In addition, the designer is also finishing off her new website which will contain both collections as part of the online shop, whilst registering her work as an official brand.

Discussing the unique concept behind her designs, the talented artist elaborates on her signature style;

“I want my designs to have that flexibility because I think that it’s a concept no one has really experimented with before in jewellery design. Jewellery stays still and it doesn’t move whereas my pieces can change shape entirely. A sort of precious transformer. Changing in the habit of the consumer.” Viktorija Agne
